Folky Friday special edition!

Indian music family at Salon Ruigoord

Ranajit Sengupta, sarod master from Calcutta will perform with various ragas, acompanied by Sandip Gosh on tabla, Shirin Sengupta on vocals and Rajarshi Sengupta on mandolin.

Ranajit started as a child prodigy and studied amongst others with Ashish Kahn, the son of Ali Akbar Kahn. He developped his own interpretation of classical raga and collaborates with several western musicians. Since 1995 he is a welcome guest in the Netherlands and in 2016 he performed at Bimhuis with Marcus Miller, a legendary bassist from New York.

We are happy to celebrate Michael – a great lover of fine art and music – for his birthday and for his efforts to sustain an independent stage in the outskirts of the city.

As ambassadors of music the family travels around the world to spread the very best of Indian culture. Come and join us for a reunion of music and friendship with sarod, mandolin, tabla and singing at the cosy and intimate ambience of Salon Ruigoord.
